Does This Exist?

I'm a life agent. I've never sold individual health insurance and have always tried to avoid it.

I have a lot of small business owner clients. I've been asked I don't know how many times about health insurance and I've always steered away from it. I've done this because I've lived with the idea that health insurance can be so frustrating, esp. to clients that I don't want my name anywhere near it.

I'm wondering if there is a BGA for individual health insurance, and possible even small groups, or if it's all done direct. Further I need someone who deals in the states of NY and VT, which looks like it might be tough.

I understand health insurance from a definition point of view and explaining what coverage is, but I'm clueless when it comes to actually selling a policy. In fact, if there is someone on these boards who specialized in health insurance who is around the Central New York area or even the capital region who'd be interested in having a conversation and might lead down to referred leads to them make yourself known.

Both are guarantee issue states. Not many carriers. High rates.

I'll second that, especially in NY. AIM has a product that has competitive rates, but it's lousy coverage.

Yes AIM is not available in NY.

As believe as recently as a few months ago it was available, when did this change? That kinda moves to point though, NY is VERY unfriendly to individual insurance, even if it is lousy coverage!

Maybe they are just unfriendly to the plans who try and act like they are something they aren't.

I know of quite a few discount plans that are marketed in NY, and haven't been sued by NY or shut down. But those plans are clear what they are and what they are not.

It was so funny working at a call center that sold Atlantis HMO in NY and discount plans.

Speaking to an 22 year old graduate, ok we have the HMO here for $400 a month, or this discount plan for $129.
