Re: Domain Names             Go to Top

Just backordering the name is not enough these days. Most registrars have a relationship with an auction house like Snapnames or Namejet or tdnam and the domains do not ever drop, they just get sent directly to auction.

If you have a specific name you want to "catch" if it drops, then you need to find out where it is registered and then see where those names drop. Otherwise backordering will only help if no one else is interested in the name.

Notting Hill is one of the cooler areas of London.

Re: Domain Names             Go to Top

I have an email address with Verizon and it is a .net. At first, many people mistakenly put verizon.com and the email didn't go through. Now, I stress that it is a .net. Therefore, I'm in favor of always going with a .com.

Re: Domain Names             Go to Top

I am having a new website built, and recently hired a Search Engine Optimization company recommended by another successful agency. This SEO company recommended that we stick with a ...com name and stay away from ...us, ...biz, etc. if we planned to market to clients over age 30, and especially if we planned to market to clients over age 40.
