My Connecticut site used to rank very well for "Connecticut dental insurance" and some related keywords.
I "un-
SEO'd" the keywords. I wasted too much time talking with people who only wanted dental.
I wound up "un-selling" most of them. They expected that a standalone dental insurance policy would be as good as the one they used to have through their employer. That will rarely be the case.
The commissions I did get from the clients I wasn't able to "un-sell" or that were actually able to benefit from the product weren't worth the time I spent answering questions.
Dental pays what? about 20% of of the commissions you can get from health? I found it to be a waste of time.
On the other hand if you need traffic and are sitting around twiddling your thumbs because the phone doesn't ring, you might want to promote dental. You might be able to upsell a few people and make it worth your while.
