I know that with each state there are different competitors in the market but I am looking for an opinion on who generally is a big player in the voluntary employee benefits market.

I work for American General Life and Accident and I like to look of our A&H products and I've got good marketing materials geared for owners/managers and employees respectively. I'ld like to make a go of it, so I'm trying to find out who my big competitors are.

AFLAC, Colonial . . . probably two of the best known although not necessarily the best products. Depends on the product line.

Others include Trustmark, Provident, Allstate.

Where can someone find sales tips for the supplemental products like cancer, accident, hospital, life etc.. Can't find any training or sales books on these.

Tennisdad,

As a rep for Colonial I can tell you they have some great product training out there on those products. Sometimes it seems they have too much.
