I want your opinion on a lead topic. I have been using a lead source for a while now. They are exclusive telemarketed leads to small business owners. They call using your name and qualify them on all aspects of health. They give you the name of the company they currently have and also how much they are paying per month most of the time.
This is my question, I have, like you, through my 16 years of health insurance, used many types of lead sources. I never really cared for internet leads but have spent thousands on them also. The company I have been using has never been public, but I am looking at taking them public online with a website and everything. This company is not a fly by night company, they have been doing this for 10 years. My questions is before spending the money on everything, I want to get your opinions first. They will be $22 a piece and will only be one or two days old. They are never group, only small business owners. Of course they are still leads. You need to get out and sell them. I close typically 4 out of 10 but everyone is different. Please I really want to know your ideas. Thanks in advance.

Reason: would like to change the title
I am confused. Why do they need you to go public? Are you a web designer and an SEO guru?
If you are asking what we think about the leads, and you close 4 of 10, I'd buy 40 a week and call it a day. Let them get their own web designer while you deposit your large commission checks.

Well this company sells mainly to large companies, they just are not selling to individuals. I really am getting tired of going out and selling all the time and would like to invest a little money and sell to the individual agents that is why I posted this.

Well I guess this is not the forum that I thought. I just found this site and thought it would be a good place to post and get some ideas. The 4 out of 10 was not even the reason for the post. Why is that hard to do if you spend the money on exclusive leads?

If their leads are as good as you say, and you can close 40%, there's absolutely no reason to change gears and move to the lead marketing/selling business.

A direct mailing lead company I used in 2006 experimented with telemarketing leads. The ones I bought from them were good if called back immediately. But they had the shelf life of a fruit fly if left over a couple days and would not even remember ever talking to anyone on the phone about insurance.

I've never seen a lead source that will close 4 out of 10. And, that involves many thousands of dollars of research.
You're being met by some skepticism b/c you are the lucky 1 millionth person who has a great opportunity to sell other agents leads. Almost no one that starts out that way on the forum pans out to a good experience for those who sign up.
If you really close 4 out of 10 on this lead source, I'd say forget selling them to anyone. Hire agents to help and go to town! There's no way I'd let someone get their hands on something that valuable.
You just opened a sale. If you shut down to objections as easily as you just did on this board, I really doubt you are closing 4 out of 10 prospects of any sort.
Keep trying and some people will work with you, they'll let everyone here know if it is a thumbs up or down.
What would be a good source of leads be for someone that is brand new with a very limited budget in life insurance be??
Find a source of OLD (aged) LEADS... Usually a few bucks a piece... and dial your azz off... practice, practice, practice... Some will buy. When you begin to feel you know what you are doing, and hopefully have a few checks rolling in, then buy some better leads. No sense in wasting good leads, (now there is an oxymoron...), or lets say more expensive leads, when you don't yet know "come here from sick-em".
Better yet, go out and walk and talk, visit with business owners, have a generic flyer that explains what you can do for them (as soon as you figure it out for yourself), and even the worst of the worst sales people will make some sales...
**Disclaimer: I am making no disctincition of your sales ability, just a general comment... and usually most new folks don't know what they don't know... yet.**

I would be delighted to try 25 leads for free. I should close 10. If 5 close, I'll recommend the hell out of the service.
Rick
Yeah thanks Rick, who wouldn't want 25 free telemarketed leads. I would go broke. If you find someone to do this let me know and I will take 25 also. lol It is going good for us now. We launched out the website and it is going great.

I have not changed anything different. I asked peoples opinion on telemarketed leads, and received a good response and received pm's of people wanting info. So we launched our website. The company has been selling telemarketing leads since 1999 but just with word of mouth, and has been doing well, but now we are taking it to the next level. I asked for peoples opinions, but we were stilling going to launch no matter what. I have found there is a lot of agents like I was struggling with leads for our agency. Since we have used the telemarketing leads for our agents our business multiplied. I have agents selling all over the place, but I am going to work the lead side and cut back on the day to day part of our health insurance agency, so I can start to enjoy my life more!

Yes I own my own agency, and also now partners in telemarketedhealthinsuranceleads.com
You know I have hired and trained so many agents through my years and I just would like to help them now and give back as much as I can. My wife and I have done missionary work all over the world and am enjoying giving back. We give alot to non profit organizations. And with our lead company we are looking to give as much as we can in helping people in need. What do you do Rick?

I simply help people find the best health and life insurance without pimping anything to other agents.
You started this thread asking for an opinion from agents without disclosing that you were trying to sell us anything. This was dishonest and deceptive. You talked about the company as "they" instead of "we." Is this the way you gave back doing missionary work?
You might want to put you posts offering services in the Offers Section where they belong.
The way you have posted makes me distrust you. Perhaps I'm wrong about you.

Rick is right on target here.
You want people to send you money... but your contact page has a phone number only. OK, maybe I was born at night... but it wasn't LAST NIGHT!
Sorry if I sound skeptical, and I'm sorry if I sound hostile, but in the most polite and non-threatening way that I possibly can, I want to tell you in a constructive and positive manner, knowing that words can hurt and knowing that this is Easter, that, well, after reading your posts here this board I've simply come to the conclusion that you are full of s--t.
Well this forum is more hassle then good. If you call that number it is my company. There is no new numbers anymore, that is why you have people call and ask for someone else, because they have had that number before. Maybe I need to change that number to something else. We are setting up a new office and will be putting our new address on the website next week.
I have come to one conclusion it is very easy for people to say anything they want on forums like this sitting behind there computer. I am very professional in what I do and would never handle myself unprofessionally like I have seen here. I have never been told face to face things that you people have said because after meeting me everyone knows how professional I am.
