First of all let me start off by saying this is not something I EVER do! I don't track numbers or anything of that sort. I have been asked so many times my percentage on close/appointments/door knocks/etc...and I don't have an answer since I don't track that type of stuff. I was asked a while back by one agent about tracking it and I told him I would track it one day for him, but never got around to it. Well that time is here I guess, but I WON'T do it again :)

Also I've talked to agents wondering about how long it would take to save up X amount of dollars doing this job. I've always wondered it myself also. So what I did was kept $1000 separate and tracked 4 weeks of information to see what my percentages were and also to see how much I could turn the $1000 into.

I know this post might not help anyone at all and could have been a waste of my time, but I figured I did track it so I might as well post it in case it does help someone out there.

This is in NO WAY meant to attract agents to this or make you think it is easy...but this is real numbers (except I rounded the amounts up) for an agent to see.

I figured everything on 100% contract and 75% advance, so it would be easy.

I honestly hope after typing this all out that it helps SOMEONE! http://www.insurance-forums.net/forum/images/smilies/skeptical.gif

This is in no way me BRAGGING because trust me, most of the people on here blow these numbers away. I just figured it might help someone to see REAL numbers instead of just hearing "sign up with us and you will make $250k easily"

I kept up with a couple more things that I didn't add here, so if I missed something important let me know. Also remember I am from Mississippi, so if the numbers are a little off, I'm sorry! :)

I don't sell or know anything about FE, but this is a pretty cool post.

Tracking these things to the penny is stupid IMHO, however, a real world example like this can be very helpful.

I do this in my business for my brokers and they find it a helpful example.

Nice job.

Really good post Ben, and amazing production from only 20 leads a week. There is no doubt good money can be made, especially after the first year. I will say that it'll be hard to do numbers like this without good solid training and support.

I also think that its very very important to try not to focus on what most guys are claiming here on the boards, but rather to focus attention on what you are doing. Everyone works different areas with different results. Hard work and good solid knowledge and support will get you to your goals. Forget trying to make 100k in year one, it'll come but it takes time just like any other new business.

Thanks again mate...great post.

Good post. I also don't do FE, but I can see how that could be helpful to see.

The caveat is how much experience do you have working the methods you use. ? A green FE agent probably couldn't touch those numbers... I would think. (assuming, as an FE outsider)

But nice job, certainly shows what can be done with a good system, training, and work ethic! :)

Now I know that a lot of the "seasoned" guys would disagree with me, but a new agent should be able to sell 3 apps from 20 leads. That would be around $1800 - $2000 AP per week. These numbers will increase with experience of course, but in my mind I would rather be conservative and be surprised to the upside.

Great post, Ben! One more thing you might include, even though it's more negative, is any chargebacks hitting your pay during that month.

I added the only one that cancelled. Any previous months production charge backs i didn't add since it was designed to show new agents how a first month "could" go if they bust butt.

$14,136 PRODUCTION
$2080 DM LEAD COST
$158.00 INTERNET LEAD COST
$240 GAS

EBITDA: $11,658
Federal Taxes: $5012.94
Profit: $6645.06

Figured I would make it a little more accurate for all the new agents watching.

The state will get their cut, the county will get their cut, the city may also get their cut depending on where you live.

If you live in middle America, the rust belt, or the deep south it's a great gig. For those in California or most of the Northeast, it's a living wage.

Im a firm believer in the back end income. If you do that for a couple of years you will easily make 5-7k monthly in just residual income.
