Selling Final Expense Via Telephone

I figure I'll eventually try out telesales cause I'm not huge on bashing stuff I haven't tried personally. I'd say it would take me 3-6 months to get a good idea whether or it's viable or not.

then i'll come on here and give my breakdown.

I look forward to seeing your review. Are you planning to buy TM leads, will you hire an appointment setter, or will you make calls on your own?

Yeah, it's part speculation, but, mostly facts. I don't know other people's numbers. I do know mine.

I'm at a little over $130,000 FE ap year to date. I have spent right at $4000 on leads. It's all face to face.

Now, maybe if I had done it by phone I would be at $130,000 ap? That part is speculation. If you go by what the leading phone guy here says, I would have spent over $12,000 on leads to this point to get there.

My 13 month persistancy with my main carrier is 89%. That is a fact. Would it be that if I was doing phone sales? I don't believe so. That is speculation.

I get a lot of referrals doing this face to face. That is a fact. Would I get referrals doing it by phone? I don't believe I would. That is speculation.

My facts do tell the story and they do, of course, shape my opinion. My speculation is not, however, wild ass guessing. I have spoken to many agents over the years that have tried phone selling. I don't of a single one that has been successful. Now, some of them have not been successful face to face either, but, many have have had great success face to face and just wanted to get off the road.

Yes, there are companies that adding phone marketing to their offerings. There are also companies that are taking phone selling off the table.

I love to compete against telemarketers. That is not speculation.

New to forum. Would love to know how you did/do $130k AP and only spent $4k on leads.

It's not really a hard thing to "specialize" in more than one product. Especially when it comes to the senior market.

If you are working the Senior market and putting equal emphasis on two or more products, then you are a market specialist as opposed to a product specialist that specialized in one product.

That was a post from 7 years ago. So I don't remember the details. If you read the whole thread you would see that I was with EFES then and paying $11 per lead. Apparently I had used 363 leads when I made that post.

I see my EFES award for that year and I ended up doing $225K for 2010.

Leads are a little more expensive today than they were then.

All I do is sell FE over the phone. I have written about $250k in AP this year and spent about 30k in leads. All I buy is TV leads as they are the ones that bring the best return. Internet needs are not worth my time as most people are not even looking for insurance. Of say 100 policies about 90-95 will stick for 13 months. Best thing to do is call them before their first draft and continue to do it every month. Get ur self a good CRM , I love VAM Db, best crm in my opinion. 3 out every 10 sales will best first call sales and the others will happen shortly after but u need to follow daily until they buy or tell you they are not interested. I am at 50% closing from the leads. If u have any questions shoot me a message.

Nope. There's too much falsehood here to address.

Dead giveaway?

50% lead closing. That sir is not possible. We are talking about humans here. No lead source closes 50%. None

My point is that there is only so much a "specialist" needs to know about one product to be a specialist. When it comes to FE or Med Supps, there's only so much to know. Anybody can know enough about both to be a specialist in both. I don't buy it when it's said that you can't specialize in both. I have. I've been there and done that so I know for a fact that an agent can. Most of the ones I see here saying that it can't be done have obviously not done it, probably because they bought it when someone else told them they couldn't.
