Hoosierdaddy - I don't need to reinvent myself. I'll be here for awhile. The funny thing is I've looked back on some of the posts that some of the people on this thread have posted in the past and their posts said they've done and said things to get a sale I would never want to do. Yet when you guys are presented with something new that you've never heard of before it's where's the tar and feathers time. Don't worry, I'm a big boy and I can take the critiques and the criticism. I will draw the line though when it becomes a personal verbal attack on me. Life's too short for me to reply to this thread anymore. I'll leave you with this. I think most of you are probably nice guys who disagree with me and that's o.k. I never said you had to, all I ask is the next time your sitting across the table with a prospect instead of asking youself how much commission can I make off this person ask yourself "is this someone I want in a long term relationship with me". That's it for me on this thread. As Schwarteneger says "I'll be back".

I am confused; are you going out on a date?

Snowman, it is all in good fun... This is a fun thread, not been many of those around lately. If it works and you’re sure it is not illegal, then keep doing it...
To me this forum is a place to go and have some informative and fun banter, with a little industry talk. We are in a tough business and it is refreshing to know from California to Carolina we all have the same obstacles to overcome.
P.S. I still can't believe the guy who started this thread has been able to fly under the radar.

Snowman....it's not like you're marrying the client.
Another scenario....what if Mrs. Smith calls you stating she wants a burial..aka..FE plan, on her boy who is 5 years old. Do you do the same? Ask for three references so you can check out bubba's character too?
Re: Final Expense Selling Machine...where Are The ReferalsGo to Top
Implying that a client must provide 3 references to qualify for insurance is professional, but calling that agent out for such a practice is unprofessional.

In whose world?
Somarco - you can take it a step further. Telling a client that you need three character references to submit the app is likely an insurance violation and if reported would likely result in disciplinary action.

Why is it that you wanted 3 references before you'd let me join the IHIAA? By the way, only 2 more to go.

O crap, I'm sorry. I can't help it. I'm always in selling mode.
Yea this was a big shock to me and my son. The guy was tough as nails. Go UFC!!:

Lies and deception. That is exactly how the public sees insurance agents. Why? Because of agents like those posting above.
That ain't right! This time, more so than any other, I am really holding back.
Referrals are not given, they are earned by providing excellent service. I never ask for referrals especially from a new client.
However, large portion of my business is referrals. Every piece of correspondence I send out has a PS at the bottom. "If you know anyone else I can help with their insurance needs I would appreciate you giving them my phone number."

I'll go with the BS $200k plus in 9 months... with most FE contracts he'd be making 100% or more. Who the hell would be worried about a stupid monthly record.
Of course... he's going to need to sell that much for the next ten years to have any kind of renewal income.

I think there is a quantum difference between referrals and references. IMO referrals are for agents who operate from a position of weakness. To me asking for a referral is kind of like a dog begging you to throw him a bone. Please oh please, if you think I did such a good job for you then please, oh please, can you, could you please tell me who else would be kind to me. If that's your style and it suits your personality fine. For me, I provide references when I sit down with someone and they have the freedom to check me out at anytime. I should be able to and have the right to do the same with them. If this intimidates you or otherwise makes you feel uncomfortable that's your problem not mine.
Snowman Chill out!
The guys here can be alittle rough on the Newbies. You come on strong with a superstar resume, then ask for some help--thinking these old war horses arn't going to take the boots to ya??
You are among your peers brother.
Chill out, start over, and they will also. If nothing else these guys might just save your a#@ while they're kicking it!
By the way, I'm Dudley
Nice to meet you....

THIS SITE IS TO GROW AND HELP PEOPLE MAKE MORE MONEY AND BE BETTER AGENTS. EVEN THOUGH I'M NEW TO FE I PROMISE I'M A BETTER SELLING, HARDER WORKING MAN THAN MOST.
AS FOR YOUR WIFE I'M ALREADY MARRIED AND ETHICALLY STRONG AND MORAL CHRISTIAN. SO NO NEED TO WORRY THERE.
MY CONTRACT ISN'T OVER 100 YET BUT SOON WILL BE, BUT CONTRACT ISN'T AS IMPORTANT IF YOU DON'T HAVE LEADS TO WORK WITH.
I SELL TV, AND DIRECT MAIL AND TYPICALLY SPEND BETWEEN 3500-4500 A MONTH IN LEADS TO WRITE THE NUMBERS THAT I PUT UP.
I THINK THAT THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT AND GROW REGARDLESS OF YOUR CURRENT KNOWLEDGE OR ABILITY BASE.
MY AGE AT 25 MEANS NOTHING, I OWNED A MORTGAGE BUSINESS THAT GROSSED OVER 500K A YR. BAD INVESTMENTS AND CIRCUMSTANCE THAT WERE OUT OF MY CONTROL LED ME HERE. NOT GOING TO CRY OVER SPILLED MILK OR THE THINGS I SHOULD HAVE DONE. I WILL BUILD MY WEALTH ONE DAY, ONE CLIENT, AND ONE APPLICATION AT A TIME!
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME AND MOST OTHER PEOPLE IS I'M ALREADY WEALTHY WHETHER THE MONEY'S THERE YET, OR NOT.
ITS A MINDSET!! MOST WOULDN'T, COULDN'T UNDERSTAND IT!!
DON'T HATE ME FOR MY WORK ETHIC AND SKILLS, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HELP SHUT UP AND DON'T POST TO MY THREAD. I HERE TO IMPROVE AND HELP OTHERS! WATCH FOR MY BOOK IT HAS ALL MY STAT IN IT WITH PROOF

Adam:
Let me quote your website:
LINCOLN HERITAGE OFFER THE BEST FINAL EXPENSE INSURANCE IN MY OPINION. THE HAVE NO PHYSICAL EXAM, AGES 0-85, STARTS AT $15 A MONTH, AND CAN INSURE ALMOST ANYONE REGARDLESS OF HEALTH. BEST OF ALL THEY HAVE PLANS THAT START THE DAY THE PREMIUM IS RECEIVED, SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT 2 YEARS FOR COVERAGE!!
Is it possible that you could find a carrier with HIGHER rates and therefore higher commission? While finding the rock bottom price might not be necessary, you are likely screwing your clients by not using carriers that charge much less.
Please justify your "opinion" that LHL is the best carrier for FE.
By the way, the are terrific for med supps but I just couldn't stomach charging my clients 25% more for a policy than other carriers.
