FSA contribution qualifying event             Go to Top

If a group has their FSA on a calender year (Jan.) but their medical renewal occurs in July. Can FSA members change their contribtution amount/enrollment in the FSA IF the medical plan changes?

Does a change in the group medical plan count as a qualifying event for FSA changes?

Contact the FSA admin.

I would change the Medical renewal to the Jan 1st which might lead to switching the carrier.

check the plan docuement. There should be provisions for this or the ability to amend the plan.

Check the plan document, but every FSA I've ever set up counts that as a qualifying event. You should be fine.
