Awhile back I found a thread here somewhere.....Some guy was using a free auto dialer that was downloaded. He seemed real happy with it. I've ran searches and can't find the thread. I'm hoping someone can help....Thanks!

There is a free predictive dialer available at eflo.net, called vicidial, that runs on the asterisk pbx (which is also free). You can download a full bundle that self installs at vicidialnow.com
This system is not for the faint at heart though. It installs easily, but you need to understand that you still need a solid voip phone service, and not vonage, skype, packet8, etc, where they have to many restrictions to make this work.
You'll need service from a place like Teliax, Gafachi, Vonage business, VoipJet, or a million others that allow the use of dialers and use SIP standards.

Yes, I tried the "free" vicidial and encountered many issues. I guess it's like anything else, you get what you pay for.
I have a new predictive dialer that is coming out soon that I get to beta test and its strictly per minutes, no set-up or per user fees. ONce I get a chance to try it I'll report back with results.

I'd forget everything stated in the above posts. Auto dialers do nothing for generating insurance leads + you would need to register to scrub your data against the do not call list. major hassle!! I'd try SEO marketing, PPC, or even email marketing for a higher %

Have fun!

vicidial, vicidialnow or asterskWin32 are all based on astersk and need the knowledge about asterisk and viop. But once it is setup right, it should provide decent platform to use.
Using vicidial as predictive dialer is OK. But I would suggest to use an autodialer service company to do the autodialer. The reason is that you may not have the capacity to do the volume an autodialer service can do for you. Your own vicidial server can only handle a few lines but autodialer service can handle hundreds of lines at a time. You do not have enough capacity for your own autodialer, period. I own an vicidialnow server. But I still use autodialer service from other company. I also ask my agents to use the autodialer services. It is cheap using the dialer services than doing it your own.

It's really, really, REALLY trixy to get started if you're not a real pro. I tried vicidialnow, vicibox, and a few others and had some problems. The biggest challenge I had is that it would only get the installation to a point and I'd need to pay someone filthy amounts of money to fix what the install disc did wrong. After about a month of working with it, trying different things, and I ended up with a great system that can do dial out 80 lines and seat 20-24 callers for under $4k (including hardware). Unless you're planning on using it for more than two or three people, you're really better off using mojodial from Auto Dialer | Mojo Sales Engine or some other hosted service. If you're looking for more than that then let me know and I can help you get pointed in the right direction and avoid a lot of headaches.

Autodialers do nothing for generating insurance leads? What type of insurance are you selling? There are entire agencies working dialer leads now and they get plenty of leads that way. Not all areas work as well and in 8 days no one can legally do it anymore, but it's been a good lead source for lots of agents. I'm currently using telemarketers with a sexier version of vicidial and it does a better job at generating leads than any SEO or PPC I've worked before and scrubbing data against the DNC list isn't all that much of a hassle.
I don't like the idea of only being able to market to people who are on the internet looking for insurance. That being said, if it's a good marketing model and you'd like to share info on it, then I'm sure we'd all love to hear about it.

I was under the impression that the auto dialing is pretty much not allowed - I know for a fact you can't use it in Colorado. Make sure you check your state laws.

Nothing is free! Even if it was you have to pay for long distance. From my experience most people are too cheap even to understand that concept. However I have learned over time that the cheapest people cause the biggest hassle and the guys I make 20K a month from dont bother me at all. With insurance it is a flood of the cheapest mofo's in the world. Sounds like most of you just are not successful and thats why your looking for a free pass through life. Good luck with that. By the way it is illegal to use dialers in the US for voice broadcasting pre recorded messages. Unless you get signatures from people! I hear people saying "If I use an opt out it is legal" OR "If I transfer the call to a live person from a keypress it is legal." Truth is that it is not. After 2 seconds have passed it is abandoned. Then when you hit 3% abandoned you are in violation. So you can use them if you want but its illegal for your market to use. I am doing UK and Canada now and making some real money. I have weeded out all the cheap people and focus on the ones with money. Over time I have not seen one person succeed with a dialer that is a one man shop or constantly looks for free passes. I have however seen over 70% of my bigger clients make a killing with dialers. For you smaller fish dont bother. You will fail! You dont have the money or the know how to succeed with a dialer. That my friends is the gods honest truth. I have done dialers for many years and this is straight from the horses mouth. You may not like it but you should appreciate honesty.
