Illinois had 9 confirmed Tornados last week. Only 1 did a significant amount of damage. Our Governor declared the affected counties "Disaster Areas".
We've had weather disasters before, but I've never seen a Director of Insurance issue orders pertaining to all Insurers doing business in the disaster areas. Yesterday, the following order was issued...

Are these type of orders common in your state following a local disaster???
I'm thinking that this might be related to IL now having a Republican Governor. First time since 1994. A much more devastating Tornado hit the state in 2013, but the Insurance Commissioner didn't issue any orders affecting insurers.
