Independent Agent Recruitment (learning Question)

Hello all,

I was hoping that someone could help me out here. I'm writing a college paper and struggling to understand the insurance landscape.


So let's say that we're talkign about agent recruitment for channel sales.

I.e. company 1 sells malpractice insurance. They want to recruit company 2's agents to sell it for them (company 2 whitelabels it, then the agents sell it).

Of course, company 2 may not be alone; company 1 wants to recruit agents from other companies too.

How does this process typically take place? What are the steps involved in recruiting agents from other companies to sell for you?

What do companies like company 1 typically do in this instance; do they put together learning centers, FAQ areas, etc, for agents from other company (who may specialize in auto insurance and need to get certified for malpractice?)
