LifeLock

Anyone have any experience with their affiliate program? They reached out to me in regards to offering it through our agency. Took a call with the rep. No volume commitment, 1 year agreement, initial and renewals based on package tier. I know they had some legal issues a few years back, but nothing I came across was too troubling.

I thought it might be a nice added value piece for the agency. Curious to get some other opinions.

I agree that identity theft coverage is a great ancillary product to offer. I thhe the lawsuits they faced were based on the "million dollar guarantee". You should also look at the IDT plan that LegalShield offers thru Kroll. Click here for an overview of what they offer, including comprehensive restoration.

Feel free to call me for questions on contracting or commissions.

From what I have been reading, ID Protection is supposed to be the new "hot" offering for voluntary payroll groups.

Sounds like a good up-sell... what are the commissions like?
I work with LegalShield as Broker Division Specialist. Here's the short version:

Option 1: 48% FYC w/ renewals that max out at 15% (based on retention)
Option 2: 16% for the life of the plan (similar to Med Supps)

Cash bonuses, incentive trips and car bonuses for writing 5 apps/month.

What is the difference between Life Lock and Legal Shield.

From my uneducated consumer view: it seems like LifeLock is a well respected and marketed service while Legal Shield is a MLM legal service???

I could be very wrong on this, this is just what I think of when I hear the two names.

Good questions. LegalShield is a network marketing company. They recently rolled at the Broker Division that allows agents and agencies to market the Identity Theft and/or Legal Plan w/o the network marketing aspect (fees to join, team building, weekly meeting).

LegalShield's identity theft service are actually administerd by Kroll, Inc. The primary difference between Lifelock and Identity Theft Shield is comprehensive restoration, which is having a licensed fraud investigator act behalf of a client to fix issues resulting from: Criminal, Medical, Social Security and Driver's License identity theft.

The fact that LifeLock is on TV doesn't make them well-respected. It's like saying colonial Penn is the better carrier for seniors because the run commercial's every hour.

The link in my previous post will give you more info on the products.

I wouldn't waste $.02 in Legal Shields 'legal capabilities'

That being said, I don't know anything about their identity theft protection, but if it is a 'good' as their legal counsel..well...I wouldn't waste a penny on it

James is correct,
I too am in the Broker Division w/ LegalShield (if you check my post history you'' see I'd been w/ them then came back when the new owners ramped up the Broker Division)

The product has ALWAYS been a winner, the MLM feel not so much but w/ the Broker Division this is no longer an issue.

The product awareness is pre-sold by the media and media-whores like Life LOCK.....I LOVE Lifelock, you always like to have a McDonald's/WalMart type to sale against and they make it easy. Again I don't need to dog them out just show the differences and it's a no brainer to a 'thinking' customer.

I like sharing w/ ppl 'what I'd tell my Momma" between the two...

Ex:
Cost
Lifelock has plans a $10 $20 $30/mo the 1st sux so forget that and you have pay per spouse so really the $20 plan is $40 and the $30 is $60 (not including the kids, more on this later)
So b/4 we go any further the cost is much higher (to pay for those TV ADS)

LegalShield has 2 plans $15 or $30 (each includes both spouses and minor kids)
(Minor ID theft ios a MAJOR issue not to be ignored and is a GREAT lead in to parents...ask me if you like )

Who is it?
The most important question is who's doing the work.
Option A...Some 'trained' CSR ppl that a very good mktg hired to fulfill the service they pitch

Option B....The world's leading risk and security consultancy, who's been doing this stuff over 40 years. The same Billion dollar risk mgt.company that was hired to revamp the WTC after thew '93 bombing and to take over at Sears Tower after 9/11...the guys that Fortune 500's use for their forensic accounting, background screening....ppl that are actually LICENSED INVESTIGATORS

There is a reason Legalshield was bought for 651 million 3 years ago and Kroll itself was purchased for 1.1B 4 years ago.....

In a nutshell
Kroll does the IDT stuff (can NOT get better, period)
LegalShield does the PITCHING and distribution
Lawyers do the law stuff

(It's the MLM distribution system 'confuses' folks about L/S (formerly prepaid legal) but distribution systems are just that, systems of distribution Lifelock uses ads, ads, ads L/S uses one on one ppl to ppl
but they are also expanding to more 'tradition distribution' channels as well.

We just brought in James Rosseau to be V.P. and Pres of L/S Solutions and Affinity Group...they hired him away from being President of Allstate's Solutions and Affinity Group, prior to running the same type thing over at JPMorgan Chase.

Point being the old LegalShield of the 1980's has grown the hell up.

Point being this is a bunch of marketer crap. The legal shield of the 80's may have grown up into a bigger pile of crap...I'll give you that.
