Hello all, looking for input & options for this situation regarding getting licensed & selling insurance from home (online based).
I have experience in the commercial P&C industry working for a carrier (not sales but in risk management). My main thing i've been doing for 15+ years is online marketing, very diverse background but proficient in SEO & paid search. I have sites that generate tons of leads, mainly P&C, but I've just been selling them off for years as an affiliate.
I am located in NJ, but I can produce leads from generally anywhere. I don't have to take any pre-licensing courses since I have a qualified insurance designation in my state, just have to take the exam.
What are my options, thinking about getting licensed in P&C in NJ, doing this strictly from home/online. I mean I'm selling off these leads for next to nothing. Don't want to go work at an office or anything, is becoming an independent agent better or go work directly for a carrier? How do I get started on who to sell for?
And if I'm correct, if I get the NJ license then I can get licensed in any other state without taking their exams/courses, etc.. Like I said I can generate leads practically for any state/locality if I wanted. Want to stay focused on commercial P&C, not into life or health. thanks!
