Question Regarding LLC

Do I have to get an insurance license from the state for the LLC (sole proprietor, no employees)?

As an independent agent, will insurance companies pay to my LLC using FEIN or do they pay directly to the agent?

You must get a license for your LLC as a business entity in order to have insurance companies pay your LLC. This is especially true in OHIO.

Their may be a couple of Life Companies that may not, I have not seen any Health and P&C lines companies that do.

It is no big deal.... Just another fee in the State or States you personally produce in.

In some states, you will need to get name approval prior to getting your articles of organization. In Nevada, your articles need to be stamped approved by the DOI before even filing your LLC. Then, and only then, can you apply for a Business Insurance License.

I would check your state's requirements before you submit your money.
