I was talking to some other agents and they were talking about global warming.

So, I asked them what the #1 cause of global warming was. One said man, others said cow pies, but I corrected all of them.

The #1 cause of global warming is the sun. Simple as that. Sure, our bi-products (burning of fossil fuels and other chemicals) might alter the amount that stays / leaves our atmosphere, but the sun is the source of the initial heat.

Plus, if we defeat the ozone layer, the Earth will not be damaged. Our style of living will be. The Earth will still be here. The life forms on it may change, but the 3rd rock from the sun will still orbit.

So, next time someone says that we are destroying Earth, just tell them you are altering the life forms on this planet, and how do they know it is for the worst?

Interesting way of looking at global warming. I recently saw the video entitled, "An Inconvenient Truth." Whether or not you agree with his poilitics, it does make you think about our impact our global warming.

Well most of what is in the film can not be proven or has any real merit IMHO. Yet the looney Liberal now so upset with their so called victory is demostrating against the very people they claim they placed in office! How funny, they can't get a break coming or going. Now I suppose they will fall behind Al Gore? Yea that a real winning strategy!:biglaugh:

Scientists can't agree on how light travels but light exists, right? Photon or wave theory?

The problem is when you get to issues like global warming solid proof would likely mean the demise of some very large companies you'll have a lot of scientists paid by those companies to issue their own company-biased reports.

This is not unlike drug companies paying doctors to run tests on their newest drug. Guess what those tests are gonna show?

Because of that you'll never have full agreement. There will always be scientists paid under the table but appearing as "independent" who will refute any evidence that global warming exists. One of the latest reports that showed global warming was a myth ended up being financed by Exxon. Go figure.

Let logical dictate the truth. Does it or does it not make sense that years of pollution going into the atmosphere will eventually have negative consequences?

I have no doubt that our activities impact our environment. But, I was taught in grade school in the 1950's that we are still coming out of the last ice age. Don't hear much about that.

True. I don't think the issue is whether or not we're messing up the environment with pollution, the real issue is to what extent and the realistic time-frame before a noticeable and uncontradictable effect takes place - 50 years, 100, 1,000? I think that's anyone's guess.

Still the hottest world average tempature recorded was I believe in the thirties or fifties. Then you have diaries and other resources suggestion the heat was very in the 1500's. Then we have the year of no summer in 1778 I think was the year. Lets face it, the temp has been all over the place over the span of the earth suggesting it is the sun that most influence the temp we are force to live with. Plus I don't have a problem with Eskimos growing a few trees!

If you are talking pollution, I remember the dire predictions after the Valdez and how that would mess up the Sound for decades. Yet amazing as the earth is, the Ocean cleaned the mess up fairly quickly as some scientist suggested but laugh at. The idea that the Ocean doesn't deal with petroleum on a every day basis is laughable!

I once spoke with a wise scientist who said..."I don't mind being wrong about Global warming, but what if I'm right. Is that a risk we really want to take" It's kind of like fighting with your wife. Is it more important to be right or to be happy? I would vote for happy, as I think most men would.

For every scientific piece of evidence out there, there is another study to disprove it.

I have solved global warming in my home. I call it central A/C.

Remember that some twenty years ago, oh the Oceans are dieing!!! Yes they claimed the ocean dead in ten years, well that was twenty plus years ago and we still wait.

Dang, if the sun is the root of all global warming evil perhaps we can extinguish it. Maybe an atomic missle will do the trick. Maybe we should ask the polar bears in the arctic about global warming.

My wife was all about global warming, and now I use that for everything.

Why did you forget to take the trash out?
Global Warming.

Did you stop by the store and pick up some milk?
No, Global Warming made me get home ASAP.

How do I look in this?
Is it flammable?

Well if one is really a nut go join Al Gore's "Carbon Offest". Now does this mean you will change your lifestyle to account for your Carbon Usage (does this mean Carbon Printing is wrong?), no you send money to Al Gore and then he reinvest that money, by the way the actual "Carbon Offset" company is soley owned by Al Gore and has no others in it! Wow, what a deal!

Heard the report today about the international conference on Global Warming. Scary! Of course, George W. is in denial, but I think that he thinks denial is a river in Egypt!

Let those icecaps melt! I'm in Pennsylvania. When I can grow palm trees here, I'll unload this property for a 10000% profit.

I do not think that Bush is in denial, rather not as radical as the global warming Kool-Aid drinkers.

I will stick with my original post and say the Earth will be fine. It is our style of life that they are trying to save. However, saying "Save Mother Earth" sounds scarier.

Bush is better than a lot of leaders we have in the world today like Iran's Ima Nut Job or Russia's Glad I've Been Putin . Makes one wish for the one's in the good ol' days like India's Gold in my ear or Israel's Been Knockin Bacon. Of course the world still had the bad ones then like Uganda's Eat ME I'm Mean!!

In the 50's we were taught that we were coming out of the last ice age but in the 70's we were taught that we were going back into it at rapid speed.

These are things that only Al Gore understands. Since we are tackling the great mysteries of life here, has anyone noticed that Al Gore is beginning to look more and more like Bella Lagosa as the years go by?
