I am going on vacation for the next 2 weeks. I will have very limited email and forum access. If there is an urgent technical issue, please email me and I will try to get it fixed. The mods can take care of any filthy spammers that come by!

Thanks

saw you mention going to Denver in another thread, if you have the opportunity, the san juan mountain range is beautiful. Telluride has to be one of my favorite areas on earth!!

I agree fully! I grew up in Denver and I will be spending spend some time there and in Copper Mountain. In my opinion, Colorado is the most beautiful state in the nation, although I have heard good things about Alaska, which os the only state I have not been to yet.

If it wasn't so cold I would move to Colorado in a heart beat. The Rockies are stunning.

My brother used to live in Farmington NM which was only about 45 minutes from Durango CO.,I would take my tops off my Trans Am and cruise the Million Dollar Hwy. to places like Quray ,Silverton,Telluride, man I get the "want to" bad just thinking about it.

I love the mountains and lakes, while the lady loves the ocean. Right now we have our sights on Charlotte, NC and will probably end up there by this next time year.

I'm with you, give me the mountains, lakes and everything else that goes with the great outdoors of mountain country. I even like to take little weekend trips to the foothills of ark. which are only about 4 hours from my home. You'll love NC the Blue Ridge Mtns.and smokies in Tn. are simply breathtaking, especially in the fall.

Forget Charlotte...move to Asheville NC! Got to be one of the best towns in America. I own a business in Waynesville NC about 20 min west of Asheville right in the Smokey Mountains. Love it there.

I thought about Asheville, however, that place is too remote even for me.

Here are the latest statistics http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet...ord=&_industry=

Compare that to the Charlotte area

I would prefer to be closer to society, then to locate the back-up location to Deliverance. Don't get me wrong, I love the Pigeon Forge, TN area, adore Boone, NC. However, I need, oh what do you call it.......access to cultural events.....

Asheville is the most cultural city in NC--not the largest but definitely the most cultural. It just does not have high crime and metro feel to it. Seriously it is way out of place where it is at in the mountains. It reminds me of a scaled down version of San Francisco set right in the smokies. Deliverance...that was filmed on the Chattooga river in Georgia...very backwoods area but also beautiful.

You folks should visit Lebanon some day. Sure, we have our share of problems (Hezbollah is one of the biggest). But, during peacetime, the weather is beautiful and food is cheap!
