When trying to make a call from your GV number without using the web based client it is that long.
Dial your number, press #, enter your PIN, press 2, then dial.
But, when you're using your browser it's a godsend. If you already use Gmail and the address book everyone is stored in your google voice account also.
So, looking for a number becomes typing in part of their name and clicking connect. It's also much easier to send SMS.
Sounds like as long as you are in the office and have the browser/app open you would be fine. Maybe not so much if you are making lots of phone calls out in the field.
That app doesn't work on the Iphone. It has a Google Mobile app, but the google voice app only works on the blackberry. Or did I misread the instructions?
Yea Apple's official explanation was that the Google voice app duplicated features already available on the iphone
Supposedly, AT&T are not happy with the App either since it circumvents their service = less money. I think Apple pulled the plug to shut down the competition, which is understandable but still blows!

IMHO GV is only suitable for personal use. I intend to sign up with Toktumi or Ring Central when my budget allows... they are more suitable for business use. GV came in handy this summer when I was on my rooftop fixing a leak... I set all my phones to ring when I get a call and I carried my cell phone in my pocket so I did not come down off the roof to answer a call.....
I use Magic Jack to make outbound calls. It is good for making telemarketing calls and to call my out of state family without LD charges, but my computer must be on for it to work, and this is not good for incoming calls. I have a handset near my workstation, but it is not wireless. I am not even sure a wireless set will work with Magic Jack.... I haven't bothered to look it up.

To be truly independent, an agent should not be dependent on a government bureaucrat for contracts or commissions.
I imagine it has some potential to cause hurt feelings.
I watched the video, and it looks like I could see what another Google Wave user was typing in real time.
I'm sure we've all typed something in an IM/text message/Email, and we deleted after having 2nd thoughts?
Got to have you're wits about you with this.

You can hide the feature where others can see you type and you can also choose private mode where only one person you designate and see your message.
Also, this is designed for collaboration - not really a function for one-on-one conversations. I use the phone, email or chat for that.
But yeah, I have nieces and nephews between the "tween" age and 21 and they love to tell embarrassing stories of when they have multiple chat windows open and mistakenly type in "yeah, Heather is really stupid"....in Heather's chat window. Oooops.
And FYI, here's an email tip: anytime you're upset and about to reply set your email as a draft and wait an hour. Then re-read your email and 9 times out of 10 you won't send it.
