Newbie here. Anyone knows who the major carriers are in NY and how to go appointments with them?

Haha, health carriers in NY, that's a good one!

I'm joking because NY isn't very friendly to health insurance carriers and as a result there isn't much product. Oh, community rating kinda beat us up too. What type of health insurance and in what area? Medicare Advantage is available statewide and there are some good products but I don't think that's what you're looking for.

Individual health is pretty much nonexistent. Have you done health insurance before? You'll probably need to work under someone who is already appointed with the carriers until you get a big enough book of business to go on your own. Working with someone established really can be a great learning experience too.

One reason there a fewer carriers in NY is because if a carrier operates in NY they must follow NY State Insurance Law in every State they are in.

When is New York Life going to move their Home Office to Phoenix Arizona? They already purchased the land from the State of AZ, its right next to USF&G.
