Another Example of Why We HDHC Plans W/ No First Dollar Coverage

Our health insurance has paid for our flu shots for the past four years. This year I got a bill from the pediatrician for $88 each for the two kids. The insurance denied the claim and said that they were not supposed to pay for them in the past either. So I paid $176 for flu mists and the kids STILL GOT THE FLU. Next year they will get $25 shots at Walgreens.

As typically happens, she didn't shop price and was willing to let the insurance company pay $126 more than what she would have been willing to pay out of her own pocket.

"If you like you plan you can keep it." Funny thing is this is likely a GF plan and on a new NG plan that would have been zero cost.

I agree about shopping.

Sounds like this person finally learned a lesson about how to properly use their high deductible plan. Would she have still been pissed if he paid $176 and they didn't get the flu?
