This poor woman was knocked off of an ACA POLICY. She won't get her Medicare Part B until July 1, 2016. What should she do in the meantime?

This is something I have wondered as well.

Although, Medicare has this to say about it.

The whole "It’s against the law for someone who knows that you have Medicare to sell you a Marketplace plan." is a bit off-putting.

Edited to add: found this document from CMS:

It appears to be a definitive "No" if they are already enrolled in Part A. (doubt it has changed in 18 months) Strange that they appear to be able to keep the marketplace plan if they become Medicare eligible during the year, although they lose all subsidies so who would? Wonder if they can renew or it just works until the end of the year?

hmmmmm...this is how I'd play it.

She got part A...so her ACA carrier will pick up rest of Part B. Part A will be pro-rated at Medicare costs. (You need to read the 'laws."). Then, set up a termination date for ACA.

If they knocked her off ACA policy, then try another carrier, unless you want to argue the laws.

Think smart, not hard. And that is why Agents are better than CSRs and travel agents! :D

According to federal guidance, people who have to pay a premium for Part A can buy a Qualified Health Plan. They may also be eligible for premium tax credits if their income is between 100% and 400% of the federal poverty limit.
