Also for you guys that were in Mega I believe his name was Grant Born. Was of the top producing regions was fired because he was submitting false applications and re-selling leads.

Chesapeake is a name they have owned for some time...I think it was a life insurance company and also a STM provider...but it's been awhile, so I might have that wrong.

Nevertheless...lipstick on a pig...

I worked with Grant and I could tell ya some stories. He should be arrested for fraud. He do those guys sleep. I only worked there 3 months untill I figured it out. It took my buddy a 1 to realize what he was selling.
Grant Born quotes...
"I will drive anywhere for a check"
"Mr. Smith I bet you will lose 20 pounds this summer for a better monthly"
"80 calles a day and you can make 6 figures" ( old B leads)
I could go on and on...

I wondered what happened to him. My buddy said he is getting back in the business in the same Lombard office with another company...

I remember that guy. It seems the crook factor is across the board there. Only a very few ethical agents there over the years.

that goes for all the ties selling discount plans when there is a need for maj med and they are healthy . May your dreams be frought with treachery. or just be educated about what it is you sell.

All I can say is thank god for this forum. Up until about one month ago, still being new to the health market, I was considering an appointment with mega, one reason was a manger had called and pretty much told me all the nice things an agent would want to hear.

Hey, for once I am proud to have procrastinated, lol, or I may have gotten appointed and be treading water with these guys. But what got me to thinking was about a prospect I called to present my product, and the first thing out of her mouth was, "if it's anything like mega life, I don't want to have anything to do with it". And that got me to doing a lot of searching to find out all I can about them and certain companies, which led me to this forum.

It's a great place to learn, from my standpoint anyway, thanks to those who started this forum and keeping it real for those of us, at least me anyway, who have a long ways to go.

If this forum would have existed in '03 I would have never shown up for my UGA interview. I knew zero about health insurance and all I knew to do was a Google search, which turned up no results (no ripoffreports then,) I checked the DOI and found that they were licensed to sell insurance and checked out UICI which was a traded company since the 80's. My instinct was "it would be pretty hard for a public company to operate a 20 year scam."

Many people in my office were making sick money. I saw bonus checks of $15,000 being passed out. 5 or 6 top reps had new Benz's and flaunted their $3,000+ per week checks. None of the typical warning signs were present. As advertised I made great money and simply believed them when they told me things like $600 R&B was "more than enough benefit." I tried to search, in vain, for stats and even to this day it's near impossible to search hospital costs.

6 months into it I started getting calls from PO'd clients. My managers blew it off as "Welcome to health insurance. At least we won't cancel them for claims like Blue Cross will." However, that really didn't make sense to me and I had to start to do more digging.

That's whey I finally found the old now defunct forum and Scott began to terrorize me
