a friend of mine wants health for him (43 non smoker, went through alcohol rehab 3 years ago) and his two sons age 20 non smoker and a 10 year old. i don't want to get licensed in sc for this. thanks
his group went up to 1200 per month. he wants $2000 or up in deductible.

Keep him on the group policy and put the two sons on a separate UHC policy, will probably save him at least $500/mo.

Dave, does Goldenrule allow older child to be primary, with younger sibling as a dependent?

typically, it's 5 year waiting period for rehab

UHOne, Assurant and Humana all have a 5-year lookback. Aetna has a 2-year lookback but he'd be looking at a 50%-100% rate-up.

I could be wrong, but IIRC, you can do a 20-year-old as primary on siblings.

thanks guys. his wife is primary and stayed on the plan. they had the bright idea to take him and the kids off because their total part went up to $1200 per month. he can go back to the group plan, but called me to see if there was a way to save.
if aetna would write him and the two boys a plan that saves him money pm me and ill give you his contact info. ill call him and tell him that your gonna call and everything.

he's not worried about exclusions etc. he just dont' want to pay $300 per week. i wouldn't either
