2015 Timeline for QHP Submission

HHS-CMS doesn't have the resources/intelligence/will to finish the back-end of healthcare.gov before this Summer, but they have the audacity to order insurers to meet page after page of deadlines and demands. Looks like HHS wants to get rid of the cost-saving "narrow" network all-together.

This is the beginning of the dive to the bottom of the barrel.

Costs will rise if carriers are required to adjust their narrow networks.

Market share will shift to low-income as carriers are required to include so many ECP's (Essential Community Providers who serve the low-income community).

The Exchange will be known as "medicaid+" insurance, and the private market will be desired by those wanting higher quality provider choice.

Works for me. Every time I put someone the exchange I want to pull my hair out. :1cute:

Look at slides 16-17, they need 5 months to submit/review/approve

I wonder how many carriers will bail after reading this new requirement. No interest in lowering costs here:

Am I missing something?

Submission window reads 5/26/2014 – 6/27/2014.
Data lockdown is 9/20/2014

Last year submissions were due by 5/1 as I recall - moving the submission deadline back to June would be a positive development for the carriers, IMO, more claims data available pre-submission vs. the 2014 plan year submission deadlines....
