Just talked to a couple in North Carolina, 59 and 62 years old. BCBS is the only company available to them, cheapest bronze plan with limited network is $1,827/month for a $7,150 deductible. Income is about $85k. Told them to find a way to get under subsidy threshold. $63k income gets them a $1,710/month subsidy, or $20.5k/year. Solution - work 10 months instead of 12, make the same amount of money. ACA bringin that vacation time!

If healthy, buy STM and be penalty exempt, keep them off gov't couch/teet, and make more money for all involved.

I have clients that will be getting $2000/mo aptc, and be paying $16/mo for bronze. Seems fair.

This couple was beyond unhealthy, so STM not an option.
