In WA the main carrier is asking for a 5% rate increase for 2016. That said, our state felt very little impact from the ACA as we were pretty much already there.

What's crazy is how the numbers are tortured, depending on if a Liberal state or a Conservative state Department of Insurance publishes the numbers.

Illinois largest carrier (BCBS) gave 5 million people a 24% increase for 2015. In Edward county, population 6,600, BCBS decreased the premium by 5%.

Our (then) liberal state DOI proudly proclaimed that BCBSIL was only raising premiums an average of 9.5% statewide.

Coventry wants to raise health insurance rates 18%

The main insurance carrier selling such plans to Iowans wants to raise rates to most of its customers by at least 18 percent.

Coventry Health Care has notified the Iowa Insurance Division of its proposed 2016 rate increases, which would affect about 47,000 Iowans.
