I'd be careful; Hartford is on AM Best's "watch" list as Allianz had to pump in about $2 Billion to help them out (correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was $2 Billion).

You'd be better off going with Banner Life is you're going for term, say what you want but they are a solid term company with UL options as well. I'd say Genworth too but they're also on the "watch" list. West Coast Life is on Moody's "watch" list right now too.

I know, all companies are being watched but these companies have actually had the "W" tagged to their name.

Re: Heartland Financial Management/Hartford Life             Go to Top

OLDWICK, N.J., Oct 06, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- A.M. Best Co. has placed the financial strength ratings (FSR) of A+ (Superior) and issuer credit ratings (ICR) of "aa-" of the key life/health and property/casualty insurance subsidiaries of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. (The Hartford) (Hartford, CT) [NYSE: HIG] under review with negative implications. Concurrently, A.M. Best has placed the ICR of "a" and all debt ratings of The Hartford under review with negative implications. (See link below for a detailed listing of the companies and ratings.)
These rating actions reflect The Hartford's announcement earlier today that it has entered into a binding agreement with Allianz Societes Europaea (Germany) to provide a $2.5 billion capital investment, following significant realized and unrealized investment losses and other charges incurred through third quarter 2008, which are heavily weighted to the life/health operations.

You are correct. I will check out some other companies as well.

I would hook up with life insurance GA so you can offer multiple companies. Life insurance isn't one size fits all and each carrier has their different underwriting niches. A good GA will do all of that for you and get you contracted.
