At the end of the day there is not a whole lot of difference between YIO and Sugar or the other generic CRM packages.
I think that if you have the money, only need a single-user or LAN system, and you like the interface, YIO has to be high on your list, as would the new Agencypro.com and other insurance-specific software.
But IF you are starting out (or cheap like me) and you don't mind getting your hands dirty and having to learn how a major CRM system works and IF YOU NEED/WANT/LIKE a web interface, than Sugar, Salesforce, and AgencyPro need to be on your list.
There is no "best" program for everyone. I thought YIO was a klunky kludge. Rick and many, many, many others LOVE IT. I think Sugar works great for me... but Rick and others think it's a dog.
Don't go by what I say or what Rick says or by what anyone else says. Try everything, decide which systems are worth the cost (i.e the price of YIO vs. Salesforce, vs AgencyPro, vs. other programs) and determine what combination of features are "must-haves" for you and which ones you can get along without... and try that system... and a few others and see which one you think you will be most productive with.
For me it was having web access and having a full-bore CRM with a huge developer community creating new features and support by the people who wrote the system.
For Rick it was the ease of installation, the YIO interface, and the one-on-one support of the owner that is most important to him.
For you it will be some combo and for someone else it will be another.
When it comes to software it has never been more true than YMMV.
