Hitman - okay, not a holiday movie but I loved it! Lots of action, martial arts, nice cars (I think Audi may have paid some pretty big bucks to be in it), overall fun. Thumbs up for adventure!
Mr. Margorium's Wonder Emporium - Okay, I was dragged to this one. Actually planned to take a nap. Hated Dustin Hoffman's fake wig and eyebrows. The movie was so loud I had to watch it. You know what? It was great! A great story, funny and sweet, absolutely a thumbs up movie. I was surprised!!!
Fred Claus - Another one I had no intention of seeing. Vince Vaughn was, well, Vince Vaughn, and he was a great Vince Vaughn! Imaginative, funny, and some great Elvis dance scenes. Another thumbs up!
We just saw Enchanted as well. I thought I was going to die for the first half hour. It was creative, but annoying. The funniest part was how HORRIBLE the editing was, in one scene (the Italian restaurant) Patrick Dempsey's hair style changed every time it cut back to him and at one point he was clearly wearing a wig! I'm sure it made the movie cheaper to make, though. Couldn't get rid of the bags under everyone's eyes, even with makeup!
Keep the reviews coming in...my wife and I have a made it tradition that Christmas night we go see a movie. They seem to all be coming out right here all in December and the choices are becoming more difficult.
An interesting perspective on many movies - type in reel geezers on youtube. Those two are really hilarious! One of their funnier reviews was on Superbad. (Never saw the movie, but I tend to be bored and annoyed with that genre)
My husband doesn't usually go for the Superbad genre either but he loved it. He watched it with a friend so I haven't seen it, but he really seemed to like it. He told me that it was what he would have been like if he had never met me.
I'm not sure if that was a compliment or not.....

My job is so secret I don't even know what I'm doing!
All I can say is that the new Harry Potter is out on DVD, as well as the 3rd installment of Mr. Bourne. THEN, I find out that Aliens Vs. Predator 2 is coming out on Christmas. It's a good month.

I have asked multiple people multiple times for the Bourne trilogy. So far, I'm not hopeful - I haven't seen it in a trilogy package yet. They are awesome flicks!
National Treasure - well, Nick Cage had some great dental insurance because he must have paid a huge chunk of money for his perfect teeth, and he added some hair on top. Pretty boring as a movie, there were some interesting parts, but c'mon. Nice Ferrari inside! No need to see it on the big screen, but probably a good video rental.
The Great Debaters - nice, uplifting movie. Two potty breaks when it turns to sex (really, no reason why it's in the movie, it survives quite well without it). A bit long, but really no need to see it on the big screen. Wait til it comes out on video.
I Am Legend - When good science goes bad. Emma Thompson wears the same teeth as in Nanny McPhee (she must have gotten those free with the contract). Will Smith again gives a very powerful performance. Probably the long, drawn-out nature of the movie was to emphasize his feelings of desertion and loneliness. (If not, then it was a long, drawn-out movie.) Interesting premise, but again, a dvd rental.
Charlie Wilson's war was great. It was the first truly intelligent adult movie I have seen in a long time. No toilet humor and it wasn't animated. You actually felt more intellegent after watching it. All in all a great movie. I highly reccomend it. But only if you looking for something more serious with a few good laughs in it.
Sooo...my wife chose our Christmas movie this year. While I am thinking Alvin and the Chipmunks, she decides...
P.S. I Love You: I can do a chick flick everynow and then, but this one was not it for me. It was sad and has a similar storyline to Catch and Release (if you have seen that one). It was a bit drawn out too, you think it will conclude and then comes another scene. If you are one that thinks every romantic movie should end with romance then you might be disappointed.
