Like him or not, you have to admit that Barney Frank is one of our more honest politicians.
Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Dean and their friends are all on record as wanting Single Payer ultimately. Yet now they're trying to claim that the Public Option would be just spiffy. Not terribly honest, is it?
Not Barney. He's honest.
"I think that if we get a good public option it could lead to single payer and that is the best way to reach single payer", he has said. "Saying you’ll do nothing till you get single payer is a sure way never to get it. … I think the best way we’re going to get single payer, the only way, is to have a public option and demonstrate the strength of its power."
How about another example -- Obama, Pelosi, Reid and their friends want us to believe that they only want to be careful and judicious with the expansion of government. They say they're not trying to cram government into every corner of our lives. Not terribly honest, is it?
Not Barney. He's honest.
Yesterday on MSNBC (of course) and the topic of regulation, he said "We are trying on every front to increase the role of government."
More government, more bureaucracy, more control. Thanks Barney, I appreciate your honesty, I really do.

"Hey waitress! Bring us a bottle of tequila and call the cops!"
Barney Frank is about as big a liar as they come. His weasel position that the mortgage disaster has nothing to do with him is opposite to reality. Frank on Freddi and Fannie in 2003 speaking as Finance Committee Chairman with the job of oversight:
"I do think I do not want the same kind of focus on safety and soundness that we have in OCC [Office of the Comptroller of the Currency] and OTS [Office of Thrift Supervision]. I want to roll the dice a little bit more in this situation towards subsidized housing. . ."
The guy is worse than dishonest. He pandered for votes and helped create a crisis that has thrown our economy in the toilet. And the same bunch say they are going to fix it. And when they say fix it, I think dog or cat.
He's charming in other ways too. When his live-in prostitute boyfriend got in trouble with a probation beef, guess who used his House letterhead to try to pull some favors with the VA probation department?
He also used his Congressional office to fix 33 parking tickets that his male prostitute boyfriend racked up. He got a 'reprimand' for that.
Yeah, he's a peach. He has been re-elected 13 times by the morons in his district.
If I were a politician (I would sooner cut off my left leg) I would definitely run as a Democrat. Talk about an easy platform to run on. Just tell everyone:
You're a victim.
All of your problems are someone else's fault.
You try hard enough already, don't try any harder.
Anyone who has more than you doesn't deserve it and must be punished. You deserve more than them.
People who work harder than you, are more disciplined, are willing to sacrifice, and depend on themselves are just evil, mean & greedy.
I'll take care of you.
I'll make your life better, you won't even have to try.

From the American Thinker:
After Gobi, Barney Frank become involved in another questionable -- and possibly criminally tainted -- relationship with a man called Herb Moses. Moses, whom Frank called his "spouse," was a high-level executive at Fannie Mae from 1991 until 1998. Dubbed a "mortgage guru" by the National Mortgage News, Moses boasted that he helped develop "many of Fannie Mae's affordable housing and home improvement lending programs." It was, of course, these kinds of programs that ultimately led to the collapse of the subprime mortgage market that wiped out trillions dollars from the economy and produced the economic turmoil that we now face. Even though there were those warning against the precarious nature of the enterprise, Barney Frank -- whose committee oversees Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- kept resisting reforms and besmirching those voicing concerns.
When the Bush administration proposed that oversight of Fannie and Freddie be transferred to the Treasury Department, Frank strongly opposed the plan, claiming:
"These two entities... are not facing any kind of financial crisis... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."
Frank continued to claim almost until the day of the collapse that the two mortgage giants were financially sound. If we lived in a sane world, Barney Frank would be compelled to testify about his culpability in the current crisis and what role his romantic involvement with Herb Moses -- as well as the campaign contributions he received from Fannie and Freddie -- played in his shilling for these two moribund institutions.
Commenting on his shenanigans, Jeff Jacoby observed that under normal circumstances Frank's questionable relationships could have well landed him in prison. Voters in his very liberal congressional district, however, have awarded him with a string of easy re-elections. http://keeptonyblairforpm.files.word...9/01/noose.jpg
