Does anyone know, or have a guess, how many active, independent health agents there are in the United States?

A friend of mine wants to start an association.........just kidding John.

Don't know but they might:

Insurance agent lists

I know when I do email blasts I send out 100,000 at a shot to independent agents but it's not just health agents.

I have been told, the "average" life & Health" agent in Florida makes just over 30K per year. Just proves that there are alot of average people out there, who work just hard enough to support there meager existence.

Be careful - an "average" can be very misleading.

It's made up of a handful that are much bigger, and bunch that are much smaller....

I was having a conversation with a mortgage broker friend of mine the other day, he commented that at the height of the refinance boom, there was 400,000 active mortgage brokers, now there are only 100,000.

Thos numbers sound low to me.

16M active licensed health agents sounds high to me, regardless of what google might say.

Interesting question, don't know who would have an answer. Partly depends what you count, such as do you count everyone who is licensed in a call center? The CSR's that work in a P&C agency, and are licensed in health so they can sell life?

Hmmm, no idea what the answer is.

The number I heard was 1.3 million licensed agents in the U.S. If you're looking for agents who are making individual health sales their career I'd say 5% of that number - pure guess.
