They do not know that. they run your credit so they can see if your score is decreasing.

Most companies don't care as long as you pay your bill on time anyway

If they checked you out with social security. If you are paying your payments on time there will be no reason to check on you, but rest assured, if you miss one payment they will be all over you.

You say it like it's a bad thing...
If you become unemployed, your vehicle can probably changed to a "pleasure use" class, saving you a few bucks.
Why would you care if they know you're unemployed?

They won't unless you tell them on the application. Some insurance companies use occupations and education level as an underwriting factor. A Doctor who has a degree is generally considered a better risk as opposed someone who has not graduated high school and works construction.
