OK, last year we had some mice, and eventually got rid of them, by both laying out poison packets, and my tracking them down and killing them.
We possibly have another mouse in the house, that freaked out my daughter last night. Here's the complication: I can't lay out the poison anymore because we now have a cat.
I searched my daughter's room high and low, and could not find it. The old fashioned mouse traps don't work - tried them last year, all to no avail. We haven't heard any in the walls, and we think we just have one small one right now to deal with.
I'm not into paying a pest control a whole bunch of money, just to have them do something I can do.
Any suggestions?
Here's the odd thing: I thought cats sniff those buggars out! Our cat was acting wierd last night, but never went after anything.

Rat traps, peanut butter and some NetQuote leads. The rat will never come back.

Probably your cat was not properly trained to be a mouser by its mother. Target stores now stock a "no-kill" mouse trap (seriously) that I am sure would not harm your cat. After you catch it you can relocate it to a neighbor's home. Also, Target has a mouse trap that actually electrocutes the mice. It should be baited with peanut butter. If I recall, it uses four 1.5 volt AA batteries and has a signal to indicate when the deed is done. It will not harm your cat. The only problem i had with it, it attracted ants that were immune to the electricity.

Are you suggesting the mouse can sell insurance?

While I'm certainly not naming names, I am positive that there are agents on this forum not as smart as a mouse. So if they can sell insurance (as they claim), perhaps a mouse could as well.

Just stop feeding your cat for a day or so. Then the mouse will seem much more attractive to the cat.

Or feed it a steady diet of beer.
The ladies in the bar are much more attractive by the 8th beer . . .

I put one in my garage and after two weeks I counted about seven mouse tails. Other then the tails there wasn't much left. You would think the new mice would smell the dead mice and not go in. I guess mice aren't the sharpest tools in the shed.

Are those nuggets Warfarin or just minature dynamite sticks?

Since I hired Seniors Avatar to patrol the perimeter, I've not seen one mouse in the house.
Also, my fish seem to be missing.

LOL. I bet the daughter falls for the new cat! Of course, what's one more mouth to feed?
