No what? I know that it is a chat thing, but what do you who have it use it for?

Thanks!

You're supposed to pose as a 14 year old girl and start chatting.

I already do that.

Just kidding. I saw others on the board with the ICQ logo. Some people on the board in the past started talking about a live chat thing, so why not use this?

ICQ is old school. It was a common place for people to congregate and share the latest ins's and out of the latest unix systems. Right Al

Joking aside, get yahoo messenger, it is a lot more funner and popular.

There is the problem.

My internet explorer does not work. I have no idea why. I will load the first page and then that is it. No other sites work, nor do any of the links.

However, Firefox works. So I have been using it.

My yahoo messenger will let me sign in for about .5 seconds then it shuts off. So, I am looking for another IM system.

I just signed up for it and it looks like a nice simple program.

Can you set up a private room to chat?

sounds like you have a virus. go to antivirus.com and click on "housecall"
On the lower left hand side to scan and remove it. before that go to lavasoft.com and get the free download of ad-aware se on the right. this will make it so you can use IE. you may need to run the program in safe mode if it is a real bad virus.
This worked for me when i could not use EI

I had the same problem with internet explorer. After working with microsoft and finding out they would not tell you how to remove it so you could reinstall, which would have fixed it. I gave up and went to Firefox, I also use Opera on occasions. They are both fine browsers. ICQ is old school I used it up to 15 years ago.

I really like the My Space IM. It's easy to use and gives you lots of options. Plus your friends are automatically added which is nice.

What is ICQ?

I give up. I am sticking with Firefox and I am not going to worry about chatting.

After all, that is what this board is for.
