Forum Members,
This post is directed at members who know a veteran who is currently disabled and served in a previous conflict/war per government regulation classification. In my specific case, this entails a close family member who served in Vietnam.
I recently had dinner with a family member who is a retired Lt. Col. who served in the Army and he told me some very useful information pertaining to the in's and out of navigating the system, so I can help out a family member obtain disability benefits that he is entitled to get.
There is an organization that will help disabled veterans and family members fight for their benefits. They can be found here
http://www.dav.org/
For information pertaining to the benefits, regulations, etc. go here

I am a strong advocate of helping out Vets and if you know somebody who might benefit from my experience of dealing with this right now, please feel free to IM me and I will keep you in the loop to help you understand how to expedite the process.
