It is not Louisiana but my great grandfather was there. He was with the Cavalry and was wounded at Port Hudson, Louisiana. From there he was sent to Andersonville Prison Camp in Georgia. He was a very tough man, and was all of 15 years old.

My great grandfather also served and was wounded in the Red River Campaign near Mansfiels,La. Seems we got something in common. You want me to send you an enrollment form to the Sons of Confederates
I wonder if all of the people crying over "famous Imos" is going to be upset about the Duke University incident. I will be willing to bet my front row seat in hell the answer is NO.
The only minorities involved were the black stripper who falsely accused these young men of raping her(should be charged to the fullest extent) and Jesse Jackson who offered her a scholarship to college.
You know words such as Imus is one thing but I certainly don't think any lives at Rutgers were destroyed. At Duke the coach of the Lecrosse team was fired, one of the accused lost a very prestigeous job offer(it was reclined after the charges were made last year) ,hundreds of thousands of dollars in attorney fees were probably spent by the parents of these young men, and their names were tarnished.
Now let's put this up against what Imus dis. I am no fan of Imus, I heard he is pretty liberal, but I think he has a right to be himself. The only problem I have with him is him going around apologizing.
For consideration, think of what it would be like if the Duke Womens basketball team were all white and had had a really stellar season where they had come from behind almost to win the championship and then Imus called them a bunch of tough whores. It could be argued that there would be even more public outrage because white women are not really accustomed to that kind of put down. You probably gathered that the duke kids parents have cash and with cash comes attorneys. They would not even bother with Imus and would go right for the deep pockets. If you think that you could get them to go away by telling them to lighten up a little and develop a sense of humor, good luck. They would be all over him.

I think there is a HUGH difference between being called a "whatever" and coming within a breath of going to prison for rape!!!! I don't have any use for people; regardless of color; of falsely accusing someone of a crime. Your "boy" Jesse was here today at Coach Rob's funeral, I wonder if he is going to apologize to these young men for being a part of trying these young men on t.v.?
It's amazing about how there is so much anger from a racial standpoint but none from a sexual standpoint. This was as much a slap to women as blacks. We've all got mommas, sisters, aunts, wives and girlfriends and to me thats really sad.

Quite so. Any false accuser who has done what she has done should be serving time- a long time. I did not say otherwise. There was a suggestion that outrage only occurs when minorities are involved and I stated that, for example, if you called a group of white women basketball players from a prestigious university a bunch of whores don't count on not having to pay any consequences. Think about it. Sometimes there is more than one injustice going on at the same time in this world. Not everything can be countered by pointing out some other injustice.

Quite so. That is the point in regard to the Duke Case. No one likes to have their mother, sister, or daugther referred to as a whore.
Imus has free speech. You don't see him getting arrested do you?
Listen, you have a client who's been giving you a lot of business. He's referring you people left and right and has been doing so for years. You finally meet him and his wife at a party on Saturday. On Monday you talk to him on the phone and say "Hey, I really enjoyed meeting you and your nappy headed bitch of a wife."
Now...do you expect him to remain your client? Imus was retarded because he forgot he running a business supported by advertisors. Those advertisors have black people on their boards, black VP's and black employees. Imus most certainly has free protected speech. But the advertisors also have the freedom to pull their sponsorship.
Next time you sit down with a client please excercise your free speech: "Boy...your wife sure is fat as ****!!!" See if you get the deal. After all, shouldn't you client have a sense of humor?
Use your freedom of speech at the next party you're at: "Boy Bob I gotta tell you, your wife really looks like a street whore." Now Bob should have a sense of humor, right?
Anyone have a daughter? Maybe they can use their free speech after they meet her "Wow, that ho really has some big melons!!!" How would you respond?

I would expect my client to drop me in a nana second if I was so ingorant as to do that and Imus is certainly not the type of person that I normally would defend but guess what, I'll defend Ms. Lardass too on abc because she has a right to her opinions too. Your right, let the market decide their fate, but less than a week after it hit the airwaves, a man's career is defined by a 10 second comment!!
Good solid Christians are subjected to sexual content on t.v. every night and everyone's comment to them"change the channel if you don't like it"' small children watching violence again "change the channel" or put a parental lock on it ,rappers calling for people to kill cops, Jesse Jackson finding them young men in Raleigh guilty before a trial, calling NYC "hymie town", Al Sharpton saying racially charged comments, calling Gen. Colin Powell "Uncle Tom". calling Condeleeza Rice names and even calling the President of the United States a "retard" all goes by w/o even one person being suspended or losing their job but say, just once in your 35 year career, "nappy headed ho" and you must go!!!
So next time you sit down at your t.v. and turn it on and 2 men are
"gettin busy" with one another, remember us right wingers are consumers too!!
I'm not saying I support Imus being fired. Imus simply forgot who butters his bread. CBS has not fired him. It's the advisors who are pulling out right and left.
And lots of shock jocks have been fired over comments. ****...how many stations canned Howard Stern? We had a very famous shock DJ called "the Greasman" in DC who got fired over a single racial comment regarding Martin Luther King day and I believe made the comment after playing a song by a black artist "now I know why they drag them behind trucks" right after the Jasper event. He was fired on the spot.
