Incomming Calls Are Dead.

This summer the incomming calls from referrals and current customers have dropped off the face of the earth. I could usually count on 1-2 sales a week just answering the phone but this summer hardly anything.

The economy is taking its toll. People are more concerned about rent / groceries then anything insurance related.

Yes, I have noticed the same thing.

Business is still out there, you just have to turn over a few more rocks then normal.

You are not alone especially in the month of July.

I think the Cobra subsidy has had a lot to do with it.

The other thing is people are broke.

Everyone is more concerned about spending money on vacations than sitting down with an advisor in July when its nice out. Just take a more active prospecting approach. Call and more DM helps. Existing clients for referrals are key right now for me but don't wait for them to call you, call your clients and ask them for help.

Yeah, sales are down for 2 reasons; people don't like to buy insurance in July and I don't like to sell insurance in July.

Next thing you know agents will be saying cold calling doesn't work because they never pick up the telephone.

I've had the opposite. Best month I've had since I started last year. $20,000 so far this month provided everything goes through the way I hope it will.

Seems a lot of folks can't wait for Obamacare . . .

Tax the rich but even still, 15+ million will not make the cut and will be uninsured.

I've been pretty fortunate to here.

A handful of realtor clients have dropped off, and a couple of my self-employed folks have had to get "jobs" - but all in all not too bad.

New production has actually perked up a little - I've really beefed up my marketing.

As for what's around the next corner...
