Anyone Ever Sold To Insurance Agents Instead Of Consumers? Re: Anyone Ever Sold To Insurance Agents Instead Of Consumers?
My question... why would I (or anyone) who is licensed, purchase a policy from another agent?

Captive and or specialist agents. I have a number of agents as clients.

The same agents refer me to people they can not help. Some are strictly FE guys, some are captive agents.

On captives, say you are a Primerica agent. It is much safer to call in someone like me to handle a clients parents FE plan than let me find them on my own. If they call me in I leave there stuff alone. If I or someone like finds them on my own I go through the whole family.

The OP was pimping a MLM company that recruits agents and then gets each of them to purchase an IUL with an annual premium of $18K + recruit a downline to do the same.

I have sold term life insurance to NY Life partners and development managers, no managing partner yet. They are all life licenced they just wanted term and did not want to pay the premium prices. I discovered this market by accident but captive insurance staff need insurance too and they don't always want to buy from their own captive company. If you have a health issue, why disclose it to the captive company?

I guess I can see in certain situations. I know how the MLM gig works... crazy that anyone buys into those deals. Buying a policy that YOU sell, from your upline and putting the money in their pocket rather than yours.

Selling an IUL to another agent, and getting them to do the same is genius. If you can't see it, then.......

Recruiting people with an opportunity of "owning their own business" as a lure, while actually doing so with the knowledge that new recruits are the warmest market of all, and will want to prove their loyalty and willingness to follow "the winning system" that all their superstars did, is pure MLM, and about as unethical and scammy as it gets, not to mention illegal if those companies were compelled to report their levels of "internal consumption" to the FTC.

I got suckered into that MLM but luckily found out that I was sick and couldn't get the IUL. That company really plays you if you're new to this business(like I am.)

A little late to the party...

I've sold several policies to life agents or for the family. Same stuff wino and walthammy mentioned. Something the agent doesn't carry and doesn't want to pick up.

Generally super easy too.
