Vision Coverage

waste of $$ unless you have a strong prescription

For people who wear glasses that is not true at all. For family coverage often the frame allowance alone can pay for the policy if multiple people wear glasses and the policy offers new frames on a yearly basis.

I know this is the individual section, but I just set up a very small group plan (3 man group) and the vision plan with Security Life was $20/m per family. It gives a $130 per year per person frame allowance with no deductible or co-pay. The lenses require just a $10 co-pay for standard lenses.

Just 2 family members taking advantage of the $130/y frame allowance + vision exam would pay for the policy and put you in the black.
