I have a question about purchasing a book of business. I have a family friend who recently passed away and I am meeting his wife to discuss his book of business. Right now I know he primarily sold medicare advantage and medicare supplements. Do any of the companies have any purchase options where you can buy another agent's book. I am certain that the wife is receiving the renewals, so can I purchase the book directly from her? How does all this work when an agent passes away and the surviving spouse receives the renewals? Forgive me for asking but I couldn't think of a better arena to ask this question.
