Insurance Agent Directories and Other Inbound Link Sources

I've started compiling a list of directories and other places insurance agents can easily get links to their sites from. Most are free and don't require a reciprocal link. You can view the list at:

Thanks. I will check it out. I add my sites to directories every week. I try to find PR4 and above and of course none of those goofy non-USA websites.

I do a preliminary scan of the site to make sure it doesn't seem fishy, but I'm not doing a deep background check or checking pagerank.

For the most part, I'm linking directly to the sign-up page to make it as easy as possible.

Do you guys think that it is worth it to pay the $5 average cost of these directories for quick inclusion etc. I have done so numerous times but as I am sandboxed it is hard to see an effect.

Against Dave's advice I did Business.com on Friday (I figure it can't hurt as they are still an authority though I am certain he is right that it is no longer a good roi but as I am sandboxed why not), I will let everyone know if I see anything amazing though I am certain I wouldn't recognize anything anyways, if you consider that I do 100 things for seo a day and haven't sold insurance in a fortnight. By the way has anyone heard about this health reform thing? I think George Bush has bit off more then he can chew with this one.

Nope, not against my advice, Business.com is another Highly respected directory, due to the editorial review and submission standards.

My mistake in semantic choice there, I am certainly not trying to misrepresent Dave's viewpoint. Dave was able to kickstart our SEO campaign, and for a new Florida health insurance site we are certainly more than pleased with his performance and recommend him to all insurance brokers.
I believe what he meant was that with business.com there is absolutely an advantage to insurance agents as it is a pr7 website. However while a link from them will certainly help $300 is a high price, assuming there is no traffic benefit. I kind of forgot your exact viewpoint on that Dave as my memory has holes in it from frequent exposure to Florida UV light. Hopefully, I will be able to give a good answer but as of today I am still not even listed. At least it should be more clear then my answer about Aetna underwriting and preexisting shark attack wounds when you have hypertension and take two medications. Next time I will not attempt to answer underwriting questions to the tune of hit songs from the 70's.

I am live! But I am not number 1 for anything except for whistleblowing and skinny dipping. But those keywords have to be in spanish and only in Google China Caffeine Sandbox. I will certainly post here tomorrow if I see any upswing of course it couldn't be worse so that is the good news.

Business.com, holy cow! (that's my phil rizutto impression) I have no idea if it was business.com that gave me a boost or the google sandbox filter opening up. (my domain was first started on 5/22) but I finally got a huge boost from google for my keywords which are of course Florida health insurance and open toed sandals.
It might seem strange to be happy about ranking 15 for a term but after being constricted so long by google I am elated. Many thanks to Dave Miller and Chumps posting which inspired me to get up and really try to lose the weight. Now I only eat carbs after midnight and I stopped drinking fluids altogether.

Chumps you might be just a little insensitive. You must know that as a practicing wicca I am not allowed to eat pork at all especially after midnight much less in a freeze dried version like a rind. I am not akin to giving lessons on internet forums in political correctness but I believe that your affront to the wiccan way of life forces me too. It is either that or I will be forced to attempt a wiccan spell preceded by an incantation. Of course it might be incantation preceded by spell so please let me know if you wake up tomorrow and find that your car has been replaced by a head of a cabbage. (that's the only way I will know if the spell worked, sorry for any inconvenience!)
