Has anyone heard of Insurance Agents United Association. This ad appeared on June 1st in backpage.com:

Insurance Agents United Association (IAUA) a non-profit a member owned agent alliance, Registered out of Washington DC. We are currently seeking agents to participate in enrolling seniors in medicare advantage and other senior products. Our agents are sent out on FREE pre-set qualified appointments. We are invited into the home to perform a Benefits Checkup. This service is provided by the National Council on Aging. The IAUA assists seniors in this process, we represent all the major carriers like AARP, Bravo, Aetna, Coventry, Wellcare, Arcadian, AmeriChoice, Humana and Secure Horizons. Our members present the "best" product for their given area. We advance commission on submission of the application, no more waiting 2 months to be paid. Best of all we are the only agent alliance in the entire insurance industry. Finally, a voice for the agent. For immediate consideration call Pete @267-221-4930 .

This is probably too good to be true. Having dealt with carriers that make slow paying an art form, I wonder how this association can advance commissions. Most of the marketing organizations that I've talked to have given up on commission advances because the carriers have taken too long to pay.

A google search would suggest that they're trying to quickly recruit a horde of agents. Probably a scam.

Really. How about you send an email to the National Council on Aging and see if they know that they are providing this service. You will find that the scumbag outfit is just using a form that the Council developed or some online software checklist type of thing that the Council developed. Or some variation of that theme. Anyway, let the Council on Aging tell you what their connection to the aforementioned scumbags is and you will get a preview of their integrity or lack thereof right from the get-go.

Just saw your post re: IAUA....stay away from them...they are cheats & liars! I was scammed by them....trying to get my money back...if the appointments run dry....they would make up appointments just to make you think you are busy...in reality none or most of the people never spoke to IAUA...complete joke...they are creeps preying on new agents, or those looking for a better way of doing business. My lesson in this..."live & learn" & move on. Work hard...no short cuts in this business....do your own appointment setting, build relationships with the client...act ethical & be true to what you are doing...and the rest will follow...it's not about a quick buck...it's about you & doing what's right....good luck!

Re: Insurance Agents United Association             Go to Top

Every now and then this type of "non-profit" operation springs up -- primarily to use a lower, non-profit postage permit for leads...and make people think they are affiliated with the government because of a PO Box in Washington, DC. They will eventually get nailed for being in violation of Section 1140 of the Social Security Act, and have some serious fines levied.

There's no way that they're affiliated with the National Council on Aging. Just using their name to make it seem like there's a direct connection. I looked at the "Benefits Checklist" a few years ago, and remember it being pretty comprehensive. There are some really worthwhile materials that NCA produces, that I think can be used by any agent.
