Business Lines and DNC?

Some business numbers listed are also personal(home & cell) lines registered to a business.

Does the DNC apply to these numbers if they are listed as a business?

I'm cold calling for commercial P&C using a business list I generated from a business database (Demographics Now) through the public library.

Just got off the phone with a slightly upset woman(marking her off the list) who stated she is on every No Call list there is. Though she did acknowledge her and her husband own the business. I apologized and told her I would take her off my list.

DNC is part of the TCPA. Telephone Consumer Protection Act. B2B calls are exempt. Sure, a business can add themselves to the DNC, but that doesn't mean anything other than they felt like being on it. Odds of you making a sale with them? Probably beyond low, but you're not violating any laws.

To add to that, it's best NOT to tell them it is legal. No use making them more upset----just simply (as you said) apologize and tell them you will add them to your internal DNC list.
