magicjack.com I know of someone who used it before and it is free after u pay whatever they charge for it but I hear they have a free promo right now (from my understanding)....but, u probably get what u pay for.

Initial cost for magic jack is $70 and it covers the first year. Every year after it's $30. If you have high speed internet (cable) it's working great. I'm using one for my "land line"

You get to pick the area code and they'll assign you a phone number.
