I am very interested in taking the CLCS designation course offerred by The Hartford for a whopping $4000. Does anyone have a CLCS designation or taken this course by the Hartford? Would you recommend either the course or the designation?

A little bit about myself, I started selling P&C when I was 18 (7 years ago) with my father. Mostly nonstandard, we have recently picked sold a lot of General Liability policies through some GAs. I know "a little bit" about GL, not a whole lot just enough to get everyone insured for 1m/2m liability limits.

I would like to find a niche and reorient our agency into commercial lines instead. I will really appreciate ANY input. Thank you!

I went ahead and signed up for the virtual online class. I guess I can be the first to report back this thread.

Goodluck with your CLCS course. I come from personal insurance & wanted to get into the commercial end as well. The price is expensive but I'm sure it will be well worth it. I tried to look up reviews on Google but to no avail. Please do follow up when you complete the course.

I got the pre-work book. Good thing I noticed it was (Pre-Work!) I thought it was the course book!!!!

GL with your testing :) by the way I was curious why you want to "re-rient" into niche commercial over standard risks? I could be misunderstanding.

I received a 15 lb box of books yesterday almost gave me a heart attack.

Right now my father and I are in nonstandard auto and it simply is not something I think I could deal with the rest of my life. Besides we want to differentiate ourselves from the other untrained nonstandard broker franchises nearby.
