How to Market to Post Office Employees

you have to figure a way to meet them while they are all together because i believe they are a union other than that it seems alot of people have great advice on these forums

Group presentations are fine for informational purposes...rarely will you write business in the confines of a 15 minute seminar...It's also difficult to get management to agree to your offer, unless you're in a small facility and the PM or shop steward likes you...The most effective way to write business in the Federal market is similar to working with the general public, one on one....And, if you are successful in a group presentation and get a few employees excited, you'll probably be asked to leave the facility before you finished your second app!!! Got to get them in their home or, after their shift or, on their break...But I still love working the Federal market!!!!:laugh:

Not sure what you mean by "marketing directly", whether it's face-to-face, pre-approach through the mail, or by phone. Best way face-to-face is through the union stewards. Some companies like American Amicable have "nearly" guaranteed issue for government employees, payroll slots set-up, and will help you otherwise with marketing. You can also get "specialty lists" of government employess through a good list broker. These lists run anywhere from $80/K to $120/K or so. You can get, for example, all federal employees at their home addresses with scrubbed phones where available, postal workers at home addresses, teachers at home addresses, and so forth. Hope this helps a bit. Take care, and good selling!

atlantainsguy would you mind naming a few list brokers with this information.

Thanks in advance

I'd try two techniques. Actually one move but 2 moves within.

1. Find out when the local union meeting is and go there
2. Bring doughnuts -- they win hearts & contracts!
