Hey guys, I found this forum by reading as I was interested in getting my life insurance certification. Anyways just a question, I found prelicense.com, which is: FL Life, Variable Annuity and Health Course (215) with Exam Tutor for 79.99, but I assume that is the course, after you take the test where exactly? Does this fulfill the credit hours?

Also there is Florida Gold Coast, which I hear is popular, but even there, there is Course Only for 179, which is video instruction and course outline pdf. There is also a Basic Service for 229 and includes same as above, but with the required Life, Health and Variable Annuity Florida Study Manual.

So there are many schools online, but I'm unsure which one has the book or not and which really completes the course to take exam. Any help appreciated!

All Florida insurance students must purchase the NAIFA's Life, Health, and Variable Annuity Study Manual. And we do not have the books, they are purchased separately from the course.

However, TesTeachers has been providing training to individuals to pass insurance and securities exams for over 35 years. We offer video lecture courses in streaming and downloadable format. We also provide the audio from our videos in mp3 format. We publish all our own content and each user has access to instructors via email. Our support staff is available by email, phone, and live chat to ensure the best customer service and technical support. We also have custom Study Plans available. Students can also see feedback updated on a daily basis about how our courses help student’s pass their licensing exams.

You can look at our course availability at the link provided below:

Greetings,

We, Testeachers, would more than appreciate the opportunity to show you what we have to offer. Please feel free to take a look at the programs we have for Floridians pursuing Pre Licensing Education (Florida Insurance Exam Online Video Courses - TESTEACHERS ONLINE - ONLINE VIDEO INSURANCE AND SECURITIES EXAM PREP). Our Florida Life, Variable Annuity, and Health course starts at only $125 (if you forward us advertisements from other providers offering a more competitive price, we can submit that to our Account Management Department for a possible price match). You would also have the option to pick up supplemental hard copy products from us, ranging between $25 and $119. Our online program alone would certify you, and at that point you would be eligible to sit for your state exam with Pearson Vue.

Please feel free to call upon us at 888-422-7714 with any questions, and to inquire about any possible discounts. Thanks for your time!

Kind regards,
Nathan Glasco

It's great that you want to get your life insurance license.

Why?

Rick

Thanks and I have friends that sell life insurance and I'm not sure as I never done it before. But I'm outgoing and prefer to be out speaking with people selling them products they could use. I hate salary as first of all it feels repetitive and I hate working for a boss that promises a future and doesn't hold up to their word. I also like the commission based pay as it pushes me more and get to know clients and connections. Now I'm unsure how hard it will be, but one of my friends owns an establishment and they all claim to make 100k a year. Do you think this is the job for me?

Also will look on the site, so I need to buy the book? Where do you buy this book? After I do the prelicense where do I take the exam? Thanks!

Good afternoon, jm1080,

Thank you for your question! TesTeachers provides its students with fully online courses that do not require the purchase of a hard copy book. Instead of a book, a PDF Study Manual has been included within each online course. You may download copies of each section, read them online, or print them out.

If you are still interested in purchasing a hard copy book, we do offer them as supplementary products. As you move through the registration process, you will be given the option to add a hard copy book to your purchase.

You can begin the registration process at the following link:

Thank you for your interest in TesTeachers, and good luck with your studies!

I am in Florida just like you and I took my prelicense course with TesTeachers. After I finished their course, I passed the state exam on the first try with a 95%.

My advice: Order the book FIRST. Once you've read it, THEN do the course. The repetition will help you learn it better. Take their practice exams multiple times, too!!

Thanks for all the info will register online soon! What's the hard copy book called exactly? Will look for it online.

Lastly, is this forum on tapatalk mobile app? I cannot find it and it would be useful for when Im traveling. Thanks for all the help!

I took a similar on-line priced class, passed it in 1 week, sign up for pearsonvue testing, and passed state exam - 1 week later - 1st try.

I paid 79.99 for class and another 40.00 for book. That is all you need. What you learn in the class, you will NOT learn while you sell. Just studying the subject matter.

This is what you need to do:

Sign up for online class. Also call the Department of Financial Services and get number for fingerprinting & create an account with them. When you sign up for class, also pay the 50.00 and get your fingerprints done.

Study for class this way: Begin with book only. Start with the basics at the front of book. Skip to SS, then health insurance. Come back to Life insurance & then read the laws of the book in the back. *READ THE BOOK WELL!

I myself found Health and life policies intertwined with 'basics.' I was more interested in Health & MY OWN retirement with SS. (learned a lot on that one!)

Then, open your class, do all the exercises, etc....and take their test. (I did this in 1 day).

Key to passing: Unlike P&C test, the 2-15 is all 'word' related. When they speak of "lump-sum" policies, what does an 'answer' seem comparable to that phrase?

Now, here is the bad part. After you are done...you must find an FFM and get linked up with carriers. YOU have to do AHIP testing, Medicare testing, etc...to get approved to sell, plus more. This is every year. But, if you pass the class and state testing, you will find this easy. They are like repeate, yearly driver license exams.

Good Luck!
