Texas P&C License with Criminal Background

I do understand what you are saying about the financial crime, I wrote a check on my personal account that my then husband had depleted without my knowledge, I wrote the check, for $25.00 and I was charged with theft by check, I was given 6 months probation and completed the probation, paid my restitution and divorced the then husband......

Jesus...busted for bouncing a $25 check ? ? ?

My God....who hasn't done this? (Hell, my bank screwed up once and cashed someone's check against my account for $1k plus). I ended up bouncing a few checks because of someone else's screw up. Guess they can come and lock me up too (sigh).

This country has been taken over by Socialist who want more and more Gov.Programs (like jails, probation officers, parole officers, Judges, the crim justice sys, etc) because they want POWER over you and I.

If u came here and said you robbed 7-11's because you were a dope dealer and user, that would be a little more difficult to over-look so quickly. But a $25 check ? ? ?

...Ridiculous!

I seriously doubt the state will stop you from getting licensed over a $25 check. If this was the case....they would have to revoke the licenses of 90% of Doctors, Lawyers, CPA's, nurses and all other professionals out there.

Seriously, if you are going to rant, get it right. The Progressive Movement, Socialists and Communists, are who you should thank for the penalty being so light. Once upon a time, true Capitalists ran debtors' prisons.

Well, I do telemarketing for him now...as independent contractor.. so I will be working for him not Allstate will probably still be independent just be able to do more like run the quotes etc..I just take info currently..well the guy this morning at Texas DOI said people with felonies get licensed it all goes case by case we don't have your info we have not seen it etc... so was not much help.. Thanks for all your help,

I think Allstate (I've heard of agencies doing this) will still want to run a background investigation on you even if you work as a contractor because you will be dealing with their clients, money, etc however I don't think misdemeanors will necessarily disqualify you.

Just continue to be honest. Generally I think the biggest issue arises when someone isn't honest about their background and it is found during the background investigation.

And I just realized that this thread is a couple of months old.....
