Coding Cause of Death Using ICD-10

I am working on a project to code our causes of death to ICD-10 codes. I'm curious if anyone has experience in doing so. I've researched some information on the CDC and their Mortality Medical Data System. I'm wondering how companies are doing this currently. Are they using a in-house system to do this? Do they have medical coders to handle this? Do they utilize a medical coding application to do this? Thanks.
