Have any of you insureme lead buyers noticed a surge in the leads that have incentives for iphones and jobs?
I've actually spoken to several in the last two weeks that claim they were trying to apply for a job online, and that filling out the info. for insurance was required.
Insureme has given credits, but are apprarently not making any effort to reduce the number of "incentive" leads coming our way.
Just wondered if this is a regional thing, or across the board.
I'm not a huge lead buyer, so I'm sure there are some out there that are really getting stuck.

I have cancelled or paused all my internet leads....I also found that these types of leads have been on the increase...The only thing I don't know is if Insureme is doing this type of lead generation or if its all leads being bought from Netquote....because as we all know the company that generates the lead spreads it through out the lead selling industry.
Insureme has clearly been watching Netquote...and is getting "creative." I only use InsureMe for ONE zip code, and I can't see increasing that anytime soon.

I talked to an insureme lead today. She said she went to www.unemployment.com to fill out an unemployment claim for her husband. She said it would not let her go any further without filling out this for request for health insurance.
I checked it out and they have ads for health insurance, repair bad credit, foreclosures, etc. You can skip it if you notice the link at the top right. She told me she was not interested in health insurance. I feel for those agents who paid for that gem.
I have just tried insureme's leads. Not much so far. I have dropped my zip codes to my county. I was offered $100 worth of free leads, so I get two that have bad numbers, but they will not allow you to return those free leads. So I guess I got $80 worth of leads, but right now it looks more like $0.08 worth.
I used to laugh at the agents that didn't know how to use insureme effectively. Figured that they just didn't know how to get their freak on with shared leads and take advantage of the best thing going.
Well, that has changed. They were the lead king of the pros and now they've decided to go dumpster diving. Truly sad for us gifted agents.

Care to elaborate on how you use insureme effectively?

I've found more and more websites are using this method with everything from selling insurance to applying for information about online college degrees. They make them seamless to look like it's required to fill out. You have to search for the tiny little link that says no thanks. On one site, Vista Print, I ordered a logo and then looked for 15 minutes and could not find the damn no thank you link to save my life. I finally came to the conclusion that it was because it didn't exist. Once I tried to close out of the site I just kept getting a pop up loop taking me back to the same thing over and over again. Very annoying. So annoying it makes me not want to do business with that company again.

It's no longer relevant. Used to be, as Chumps said, in a small radius of your office, if you live in a decent sized city, you could run them all day long and consistently place cases like no other lead company I've ever used.
However, that's changed, and you'd be throwing your money away. Their lead quality has deteriorated to the point that it's like a PZ or Netquote.
They are sending out incentive leads and then giving you credit, if you ask for it. They don't reimburse you for the time you've wasted, but there is a bright side, I'm just not sure what it is yet.
These types of leads are just a little better than cold calling from a phone book.

Sometimes worse.... The guy you call out of the phone book yells at you for good reason. The internet lead guy is yelling at you for good reason AND you paid money to be yelled at. At least the phone book was free.
Oh yeah, from the phone book, you are the first to call. From an internet lead, you are the 20th....

I about fell out the chair when I read that. So true. You can be a superstar on the phone and it still won't matter with people who think they are applying for something other than health insurance or getting an ipod for filling in their info.
My recommendation for using internet leads would be to try and buy as many as you can for as low price as possible. I've heard companies go as low as $4 per auto lead if an agents was willing to buy enough.
Make sure that you're using some sort of lead management system to be able to track, quote and follow up on these leads. (Message me if you want recommendations for lead management software.)
Internet leads are always hit or miss. The quality varies greatly based on your state and city. But, it's a numbers game, so if you can get a lot of leads for cheap, and work them properly, you can do very well.
What are you folks paying for your insureme leads? I was thinking about buying some leads from them, but I want to make sure I get a fair deal, which I doubt I am being offered initially.
I can usually create and equal number of good and bad leads by door knocking and for a whole lot less. If you have strong legs and good feet this still works. Just carry a bunch of index cards with you. Get the street address from the mailbox and then all you need is a name and phone number when you attack them at the door. Oh and sometimes you get a sale because the timing just happened to be right!

Just be sure that you know the laws in your state. In my state and others, door-to-door for med supps is illegal and you will get someone's attention sooner or later if it is illegal in your state. Also, I could ask ten zamboni's in my state who sell med supps if it is illegal and most of them would say no because lots of insurance agents only know what it says in the brochure and what the guy at the FMO thinks sounds right. Check it out yourself. Same about cross-selling other products on a med supp appointment. It's illegal under state law in my state. Doesnt matter what CMS says. Check that out too.
On the other hand, if it is not illegal then use all the tools available to you and happy hunting.
